Game of Thresholds envisions a car-free vibrant neighbourhood with a distinct character that will fuel the local society with new generations of open minded and socially conscious citizens. The proposal absorbs qualities from the surroundings and retains visual lines and accesses. Vitality throughout the whole day is achieved through the mixing of private, public and shared functions which will boost social balances and interaction among permanent users and visitors. The coexistence of various social spheres is expressed on multiple levels starting from an extended personal space for every individual and continues to the housing unit, the block and ultimately the neighbourhood as a whole. Collectivism and sharing, works in combination to properly designed individuality as part of an equal pair. The proposal triggers social & spatial awareness and promotes participation in team events and decision making. The focus on families with children is an investment to the future. The preservation and adaptation of the existing brick building, transforms it into a multifunctional and flexible communal hub including a kindergarten. Game of Thresholds is a gesture towards a future with a full spectrum of interconnecting social ambiences & collaboration.
