‘Timeless Science Constant Learning’
Inspiration, character and materialization
The new museum transforms the location into a high quality urban destination. The proposed vision is found in the meeting point of various typologies, mainly housing and industry. Inspired by these surroundings, it translates the essence of the neighbouring typologies into a volume harmoniously integrated into its environment. The project envisions a science museum where the roughness of materials combines with the smoothness of forms into a timeless and elegant public building. Its curves create welcoming embraces and strengthen the inviting character. With industrial typology as a point of departure it steers away from a polished image and aims in a place that feels inclusive and accessible to all. ‘Timeless Science Constant Learning’ is looking forward to sharing knowledge, inspiration and motivation for many years to come. Through its spatial qualities aimed (but not limited) towards younger audiences it hopes to make a difference in shaping generations of open minded, curious and ever-learning human beings.
